About the ED Nation
Welcome to the Emergency Nurse Nation!
This website is a compilation of Emergency Nursing knowledge for all you ER RNs out there who want to improve your practice by expanding your knowledge. The ED Nation is for the nurse who doesn’t have the luxury of time at work to look everything up that you want to know. It’s for the nurse who wants to expand their nursing knowledge base and be the best nurse they can be.
On this website, The Emergency Nurse Nation, Johan compiles medical knowledge to share with you all, our fellow emergency nurses, so that we can all together improve ourselves, our patient care, and our field of work. Emergency Nursing requires knowledge of every other nursing specialty from OB and Peds to ICU and OR. If you have a question or a topic that isn’t yet included on this website please email Johan directly at ______ he’d love the challenge!
My friend and co-worker, Johan spends too much of his free time listening to ER podcasts and geeking out on subtle nuances of 12 lead EKGs that I could never even with a magnifying glass begin to dig into. He is a wealth of emergency knowledge (and he’s downright friendly and loves talking Emergency Medicine).
On this website you won’t find any “fluff” no articles on “how to care for the caretaker” that seem to overwhelm Nursing Journals and websites these days. Here you will find only juicy “meat”: straight up ER Nursing Knowledge, no frilly garnishes – just the way Johan likes it. 🙂
“Hello my name is Johan, I work in Emergency Medicine. I’ve worked in the trenches as an Emergency Department Tech and now as a Registered Nurse. I have made many mistakes that hopefully i can help you avoid. I don’t have all the answers to your questions but I’ll be relentless in my pursuit to find them and share them here with you and all our co-workers with the sole purpose of taking better care of our patients.
I built this website for you. My goal is to provide up to date Medical tips, tricks and experiences that educate and help you be better at what you do.
I am a full time staff nurse taking care of some really sick people and some not so sick people. My experiences come from daily encounters with disease and sickness, and not made-up patients. I hope you’ll visit heard often and share this site with others in our profession as a practical resource for meaningful information because for me, Emergency Nursing is more than a career, it’s my passion.” – Johan
